Airport Tycoon 2 Co-op Guide

Update 6 turned Airport Tycoon 2 into a billed co-op tycoon. The listing now leads with: play with your friend, start a new save profile, build a giant airport together, and climb the co-op leaderboard. Servers still cap at six players, so a dedicated pair plus a few randoms is the usual room.

This is online co-op on Roblox, not split-screen. Both people need the experience installed and a party or server hop into the same instance.

Setting up a shared save

1. One partner hosts or both join the same server.
2. Create a new save profile for co-op instead of grafting a friend onto a finished solo file. The update text is explicit about a new profile.
3. Confirm both of you can collect, buy, and scan. If one client is stuck on a tutorial prompt, finish it before spending the shared wallet.
4. Like the game and join the group on both accounts if you still need the +1,000 on any personal bonuses the listing grants.
5. Stay in the same server. The +10% money per friend is a live-player bonus, not a save-file stamp.

If you already have a maxed solo airport, keep it. Co-op is a second career, and rebirth on the shared file will not (and should not) wipe the solo one.

How to split the work

The terminal has two jobs that fight each other: security and shopping.

• Partner A lives at the scanners. Approve, open a second lane, keep the queue honest. See security.

Swap when A is bored. Do not both stand at Store arguing about a jet while families clog a single scanner.

Planes still need a destination table that makes sense. Agree on one route before you splurge on a large aircraft. A seven-seat starter is enough for two people learning the HUD.

Leaderboard and session length

The co-op board is a reason to keep the shared file alive. Offline earnings still tick, so a pair can play stagger-shift: you build at noon, your friend collects at night, the airport does not freeze. Auto-save is official — still wait a few seconds after a big purchase before you both crash the client.

Rebirth on co-op is a political act. 150k looks small when two people are stuffing the ATM. Use the planner and actually say the word “reset” in chat.

Etiquette and failure modes

Randoms in the other four slots. They can help the friend-bonus math if they count as friends; they can also idle. Do not hand a stranger your Store button.

Different goals. One player wants Legendary index completion, the other wants a pretty fountain. Pick a session goal from the walkthrough — Takeoff!, Line Buster, first destination — and stop there.

Wrong game again. If your “co-op” is claiming plots on two islands, you launched a 2-player tycoon that is not this one. This wiki’s co-op is a shared terminal with gates, a globe fountain, and passenger rarities.

Scripts. Auto-buy tools on a shared file can steal the fun and the account. Read scripts before you “help” your friend with an executor.

Bonuses stacked

A healthy co-op session can stack:

• Friend money (+10% each)
• Premium/Plus on one or both clients (+15% money / +15% luck)
• Listing like + group (+1,000)
• Offline earnings between sessions

That stack is why Update 6 is not a gimmick. Two people with luck and lanes will see Legendary guests sooner than a solo grind.

When World 2 opens a winter airport, start a fresh co-op profile if you want the event without dragging old layout mistakes into the snow. Keep this file as the “main” if the token tree is already deep.
