Security Lanes in Airport Tycoon 2
Line Buster — the second scanner — is an income upgrade wearing a TSA badge.
Every passenger you want to charge must pass security. That makes the scanner the true dropper in Airport Tycoon 2. The badge Line Buster is awarded for building a second security lane, and a huge slice of players own it because the first lane dies the moment two families arrive.
How a scan works
Walk into the lane, use the prompt, approve clean guests, reject whatever the minigame marks bad. Early videos show a fast scan-and-approve loop. You are not simulating real TSA policy; you are clearing a queue. Controls cover mobile vs PC prompts.
If you stand in Store while the line wraps around the sundae, you chose decoration over money. In co-op, one partner should camp this job.
Why the second lane is S-tier
Throughput is multiplicative with ticket value. A Legendary stuck behind Commons in a single rope line is a wasted luck roll. Two lanes let you:
- Keep boarding fed so planes are not empty.
- Keep amenities fed so snacks are not idle.
- Survive AFK seconds while you tap the ATM.
Buy Line Buster after Snack Tax, before a vanity jet. That order is also Getting Started.
Layout
Face scanners toward the door, not the fountain. After Update 5, expansions cost cash instead of Star Tokens — buy width when both lanes clip each other. Luggage belts belong after the scan, as in the Gate B1 screenshot, so cleared guests flow into spend.
Night lighting can hide prompts. Raise the camera. If a partner cannot see the prompt, they are in the wrong profile or still in tutorial lock.
Rejects and luck
Do not overthink rejects. Clearing the lane matters more than roleplay. Luck still rolls the next spawn. A clogged S-tier destination does not print tickets for people who never entered.
Rebirth and security
After a rebirth, rebuild lanes before the hangar. Luck without scanners is a rumor. Token upgrades that speed boarding are worth more than a statue. The rebirth planner includes this as a gate.
Scripts
Auto-scan executors for other airport games will not know this prompt. “Secure the Airport” scripts on public lists are for a different Roblox title. Using random TSA GUIs here is how you ban a co-op save. See scripts.
World 2
A winter airport may add coats and extra cameras. Unless the patch adds a third badge, two lanes remain the rule. We will note new security furniture on World 2.
Checklist
- One lane exists and you can scan without jumping out of the prompt.
- Snack Tax exists so cleared guests have a spend.
- Second lane purchased (Line Buster).
- Path to seating and gate is obvious.
- Collector is on the way back so you do not AFK at the magnetometer.
Hire TSA
Playthroughs show you can later hire TSA. Full steps sit on hire TSA. You can later hire TSA so scanning runs without you standing in the prompt. That is the legal auto-scan. Buy it after two lanes exist; a hired agent on a single rope line still bottlenecks Legendaries. Do not confuse hired TSA with unofficial auto farm injectors that start lanes from a GUI.
Off-sale Robux leftovers named Extra Security Lane 1 and 2 are not the current way to add throughput. Build the second lane with cash for Line Buster.
Scan loop details
Operate the bag scan, approve clean guests, reject flagged bags, then let them walk to snacks. Auto-jump on mobile cancels the prompt — turn it off in controls. In co-op, only one partner needs to live here once TSA is hired; the other should ATM and shop destinations.

Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
What does Line Buster mean?
It is the official badge for building a second security lane. Buy it early.
Can I skip scanning if I buy a bigger plane?
No. Planes only board people who already entered. Security is the spawn gate.
Should co-op partners both scan?
One camper is enough at the start. Add the second person when two lanes are actually busy.
Do Star Tokens still lock extra lanes?
Update 5 removed Star Tokens from expansions. Lanes and floor are cash purchases now.
